Traci Restiano was deeply affected when she witnessed close family members struggle with breast cancer. She wanted to help and decided that she would raise money for cancer research by becoming involved with the 2008 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in N.Y. on The Next Generation Foundation team. Traci's interest was sparked when a dear friend shared her experiences of walking with The Next Generation in the 2007 Avon Breast Cancer walk in Charlotte, N.C. Hearing about her friend's life changing experience, Traci knew this is where she could make a difference and get involved. Once she signed up for the walk, Traci found herself connected with the powerful, strong-willed, amazing women who founded The Next

Generation. Her dedication to the group was so strong that she signed on to be part of their Board of Trustees. In 2009 Traci was approached by the founders and asked to sign on as the Treasurer of The Next Generation, an honor she most willingly accepted.

As Treasurer it is Traci's responsibility to control and account for the finances of The Next Generation Foundation. She must report to the board on budget planning and preparations for upcoming expenses and fundraising. It is Traci's job to ensure that the board has a complete understanding of the foundation's financial position. Traci must monitor the budget and inform all board members as to whether projections are being met in order that joint decisions can be made on appropriate adjustments.

Traci looks ahead to her future serving as Treasurer for The Next Generation Foundation and to helping the foundation achieve its ultimate goal of finding the cure for cancer while helping friends, family, and cancer patients cope with the struggles and affects of the disease.

The mission of The Next Generation Foundation is to get young men and women involved with cancer awareness. Cancer gives no allowance when it comes to age, race or gender. Therefore, we all need to do what we can to help eradicate this disease.

It is our generation that needs to set the example for young men and women to follow. There is so much that each of us can do, but not everyone knows where to start. Learn more

The truth is that so many of us wait til someone we know and love is diagnosed or lost to the terrible disease called Cancer. Together, you can help us to change this!

We shouldn't be waiting for a loved one to become part of a statistic, but rather coming together with our loved ones to try to change these statistics so that we are hearing more and more survival stories that fuel the inspiration Learn more
